PS 62

5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from Him.

Have you ever found yourself in a place of desolation? In a lost and forgotten land? Here now I speak not specifically of strife, or turmoil, but of destitution. Have you ever been forgotten, found yourself cut off from man, and in the end castrated – or seemingly so – of your place with God?

8 Trust in Him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before Him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

Have you found yourself, or seemed to be cut off from your inheritance? Alone? A stranger in a strange land without family or friends to support you?

When I speak I preach to myself, for I shall not always be lost and forsaken.

Strive. Do you strive and seek and yearn and push for growth? Do you battle with the darkness of your own soul? Does it threaten to take you to the depths in solitude and forgetfulness?

6 He only is my rock and my salvation: He is my defence; I shall not be moved.

If all men forsake you, then surely the Lord will not forsake you. If all men cast you off, and would condemn you to die in a vile stinking pit; would sell you into slavery, cast you into prison, yea and do to you all things they did unto our Lord (as they typologically did unto Joseph); yet still the Lord is on your side if so be that you trust in Him.

Fear not O Jacob, be not dismayed, Israel, for the Lord thy God has remembered you. And I will rise from the ashes, for if we be buried with Him in the likeness of His death, so shall we also be raised with Him in the likeness of His resurrection.

The night does not last forever, neither will your brethren always forsake you. Seek the Lord while He may be found, and turn from evil. Seek that which is right, and righteous.
