But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another. (Ps. 75:7)
1 Cor 15:24-25
24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
Psalm 75:6-10
6 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.
7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.
8 For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them.
9 But I will declare for ever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
10 All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.
Dan. 12:2 & 3
2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.
Ps. 75:7
But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.
In the end, every enemy will be defeated… every enemy of what? Of the reign of Jesus Christ – every enemy of our Lord’s kingdom.
John 18:36
Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, THEN would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
The Lord has enemies; the enemies of the Lord are those who set themselves against Him. To whatever degree man is against Christ, to that same degree is he an enemy.
James 4:4
…know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
As Christians, we sometimes view ourselves, our perspectives and agendas as those of God. We certainly should strive for this, yet our flesh, itself is an enemy of God.
Rom. 8:6-8
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
To be carnally minded – that is to be preoccupied with earthly, temporal things; to operate chiefly with our own human prefrences and desires – is death. That is: it equates to death, and it is equal to death because of its opposition [enmity] to Christ.
Every enemy of Christ’s kingdom will be defeated, and the world itself – for man is firstly agaisnt God because of disbelief. In unbelief we take lightly the words of God, and believe not the testimony He has given of His Son. We therefore take Christ lightly, and are by the degree in which we take Him lightly, opposed to Him, and His reign [enemies].
We may view ourselves as on page with God, but if our primary motivation for action is some temporal thing; if it is advancing some sort of modern political, or theocratic system it is earthly, and carnal for Christ’s kingdom is not of this world.
Do we seek to establish a certain political ruler?
God is the judge: HE putteth down one, and setteth up another.
In so doing, we become the enemies of God. I don’t like to address the political, but I have recently, and will because many Christians are being misled into enmity with God. Do you trust His word, o Trump supporter?
It is He that setteth up one, and putteth down another. This much Christians becan to declare when Trump was elected, and many proffessed and prophesied that he was God’s chosen, and anointed servant for this hour. This much I also believed, not because I factioned with Trump, but because God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.
Yet now has Trump become in the view some (not all) even by such proclamations as God’s representative; too much honor is taken from Christ and given to him. The trend I have been seeing with hats and shirts bearing logos of ‘Jesus is my Lord, and Trump is my president’ is a direct affront and abasement to Christ. We have put a man on close enough footing to Christ that we have given him honor in the same breath with the Lord whose kingdom is not of this world. A man has become a false savior, for we expected him to save us from socialism, and from immorality legislated.
I digress, for we seek matters that transcend politics, which speak of understanding the things of the end, but we must re-adjust our perspective to do so. We must take the perspective of Christ and His kingdom, for the promise is written:
Matthew 6:33
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
That is: the Lord knows [y]our basic needs, if we seek His kingdom and righteousness above all else, He will meet our needs.
If we cannot distinguish the difference between God’s kingdom, and earthly kingdoms; if we do not know the difference between Christ’s kingdom, and our desire to see morality advanced in the earth then we will surely be misled, and decieved. We will chase false saviors, and false Messiahs thinking they are complimentary of God’s kingdom in the earth; we will buy into false teachings that twist the scriptures to our desires and agendas. We are in the days prophesied that things would come to pass, and they are indeed being fulfilled in our midst.
1 John 2:18
Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
Carnality is an enemy of God. When we put flesh on the throne, we have established for ourselves – even unwittingly because we have not percieved the Kingdom of God – an antichrist: a false Messiah (not THE antichrist, AN antichrist), an enemy of God.
No earthly kingdom is God’s kingdom, no, not even that kingdom which is called by men Israel (Se also post: Palestinian Christian’s response to Christian Zionism). Christ Himself declared this specifically:
John 18:33 & 36
Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Art thou the king of the Jews?
…
Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
If you want a prediction – though I am not prophesying – but declaring what scripture has prophesied already- those who will not distinguish between the kingdoms of men, and that of Christ will be decieved into following a false kingdom, and will become partakers of the judgments to come on it, wherefore we are warned in scripture to come out of her: the ultimate earthly kingdom:
Rev. 18:4
And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
The world is pasing away and the lusts thereof, but those who do the will of God will abide forever.
Then there are those who are enemies because they hate Christ outright.
John 15:23
He that hateth me hateth my Father also.
1 John 2:22
22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
The wickedness of the world will increase unto utter hatred toward Christ, and THE Antichrist will come as prophesied. According the scriptures He will deceive many. How will he deceive those of God’s kingdom? According to Daniel, he will have ‘intellegence with them that forsake the covenant’ (Dan 11:30), and ‘corrupt by flatteries’ (11:32). (See also post: The Rapture and the Return of the Old Covenant)
He will manipulate, and flatter. Those who are susceptible will be those who discern not he kingdom of God, those who take the covenant of Jesus Christ lightly; those who can be flattered and comfortably led into support of an earthly kingdom which vaunts itself as the kingdom of God. The stage is set, the day is at hand and the church has not percieved when the beast rose from the sea (it’s not Biden, or Trump).
All enemies, and death itself will be destroyed:
2 Thess. 2:8-12
8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
After all these things history will be culminated, Jesus will return and all enemies will be defeated. When He comes at the utter end, death itself will be destroyed for the dead shall be raised. Then will come the True Jerusalem – Christ’s bride – out of heaven, itself being free from carnality and the ways of this world; having no enmity with Christ.
This Jerusalem exists today – not on earth, For here we have no continuing city, but we seek one to come. (Heb. 13:14) (An earthly city which calls itself ‘eternal’ is a counterfeit from whence the counterfeit Messiah (Antichrist) will reign.)
But Jerusalem WHICH IS ABOVE IS FREE, which is the mother of us all. (Gal. 4:26)
If you are born again in Jesus Christ, you are a citizen of the heavenly kingdom (Psalm 87), and shall overcome all things, yes even death itself. Be not decieved, but recieve the love of Truth that you might be saved (2 Thess. 2:10).
