Father, I will that they also whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. (John 18:24)
Lord Jesus, I pray that they all would know that their spiritual access to You is complete, as also was Your access to the Father. For this body of yours has not percieved, and I have not percieved it, though You declared that eternal life is to know You, and the Father (John 17:3); and declared also that You had been given power over all flesh to give this access of knowing you personally to as many as believe in you (John 17:2).
Would that Your body took You as Your word declares – as You also prayed in the earth: as our uttmost Teacher, Counsellor, Friend; as the only sufficient Priest for our souls – and the sacrifice itself. That we may know You, God, and be no more decieved by false teachers, by worldly partisanships, and temporal motivations.
You declared that God is a Spirit, and they that worship Him must do so in spirit (John 4:24); may our spirits be united with You, as You prayed… as we have failed to live up to.
Lord there be many who begin to see that these are the last days, and they know not what to do. The world offers them saviors and many are decieved; and so it is just as You declared that it would be in this time before the final abomination arises. For You have declared that for the overspreading of iniquity, the love of many would grow cold (Matt. 24:12), and I see it happen in the nation of my nativity on this earth even now.
But all the while my Shepherd speaks lovingly: Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. (Luke 12:32)
Help us Father, as Christ prayed for us: that we may be where He is, and percieve it, in order that we may behold His glory. He in us, and You in Him that we may be made perfectly united with You (John 17:23).
Help those lost and fearful, who have been decieved by fables to find the Truth – Your Word is Truth, and Your Spirit guides us into all Truth. But they must abandon those teachings of men who have tickled their ears, and heed Melchizidek.
Lord, I am small, and my voice is weak, but You have declared that I will bear fruit, and that fruit remain. It is also prophesied that a falling away must come (2 Thess. 2:3), and in decietful doctrines, dissillusionments, and the growth of iniquity many seek the same savior as the students of the serpent – they know not what they do; but even in the midst of this corruption by flatteries, you have declared they they who know You (and this is eternal life) will be strong and do exploits (Dan. 11:32); revive us O Lord.
May the body return. Teach us; help us to abandon the teachings of men, and be taught in knowing You. Make us, also, bold to speak Your word, and make us effective evangelists, for You died for all mankind.
Help us most of all – as You prayed eternal words – be one in You. You in us, and we in You abiding; our spirits in the secret place, beholding the glory of Christ.
Amen.
